#155: “Dance Nazi: The Reprisal”

The I-Game party on Saturday night gave me a good excuse to skip the side event. I played online all day and finished my session at 9.30pm, joining Danny Maxwell and the Scandi-crew for some pints in a nearby bar. From there, we went to Club Revolution where we joined up with Johanna Pyysing, Eva Slovic, Joni Jouhkimainen and the rest of the I-Game posse. I snap-hit the dancefloor and quickly reprised my 2011 Electric Picnic role of Dance Nazi, dragging up most of the crew and taking it upon myself to give out to anybody I felt was only dancing ironically. Copious sambucas later, I took myself back to the hotel.

On Sunday night, I found the only nice restaurant in Sunny Beach (Djanny’s) and took Johanna out to dinner. Great conversation and two great bottles of Malborough Sauvignon Blanc made for a sophisticated evening which we quickly made up for by following on to a bunch of dodgy/cheesy nightclubs with her colleague Jussi. Nobody’s fault really – dodgy and cheesy nightclubs are what Sunny Beach does and it seemed like a good idea at the time. More dancing was done and an awful lot more drinking. As a result, Monday was a bit of a write-off. I crawled out of bed at 2pm only to tell the reception desk that I needed my room for an extra night. My head was pounding and I was in no condition to go out, let alone embark on a three hour sweaty bus journey to Golden Sands.
